ADAPT bearings are designed to handle a combination of shaft misalignment and shaft expansion, while maintaining optional roller to race contact to minimize stress and extend bearing life. Timken ADAPT bearings are the only toroidal bearings in the industry that come standard with a lubrication grove lube holes in the outer ring. This makes the ADAPT bearing a drop in solution replacing a spherical roller bearing and using an existing lubrication system. Competitor designs require housing modifications to provide lubrication to the bearing.
