Crosby HG226 1/2" X 12" Eye & Eye Turnbuckle
Crosby HG226 Eye & Eye Turnbuckles are ideal for many applications, including guy wires on communication towers, keeping static lines tight (such as handrails) and lashing applications that use wire rope to bind a stationary load. HG226 Turnbuckle End fittings are Quenched and Tempered or Normalized, and turnbuckle bodies are heat treated by normalizing. All components are Hot Dip galvanized (smallest sizes are mechanically galvanized). Turnbuckle eyes are closed die forged, and elongated by design to maximize easy attachment in the system and minimize stress in the eye. For turnbuckle sizes 1/4” through 2-1/2”, a shackle one size smaller can be reeved through the eye. Modified UNJ threads on the end fittings provide improved fatigue properties. Turnbuckle bodies have UNC threads. HG226 Turnbuckles are fatigue rated to 20,000 cycles at 1-1/2 times the Working Load Limit. NOTE THAT TURNBUCKLES ARE RECOMMENDED FOR STRAIGHT OR IN-LINE PULL ONLY. Lock Nuts are available for all sizes. HG226 Turnbuckles meet or exceed all requirements of ASME B30.26 including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load and temperature requirements. Importantly, these turnbuckles meet other critical performance requirements including fatigue life, impact properties and material traceability, not addressed by ASME B30.26. HG226 Turnbuckles also meet the performance requirements of Federal Specifications FF-T-791b, Type 1 Form 1 - CLASS 4, and ASTM F-1145, except for those provisions required of the contractor. Made in the U.S.A.
