This combinedwith ABB’s QuickMoveTM technology allows the IRB1660ID to shorten cycle times up to 10% comparedto competition.Outstanding weld qualityThe demand for superior and quality in arc weldingapplications has increased, requiring improved wirefeeding control near the arc to guarantee high volumeproduction. The IRB 1660ID has a stronger more rigidupper arm able to lift up to 6 kg to accommodateheavier torches. This, combined with ABB‘s TrueMoveTMtechnology and the new motion process “Accuracymode” provides 0.05 mm path repeatability for ex-cellent welding results.Safe robot movements enable high density cellsThe IRB 1660ID with the aid of RobotStudio®, ABB’spremier offline robot software programming tool,enables robot programmers to envision high densitycells with several robots welding close to each otherwith a minimum of work piece heat distortions.RobotStudio simulations help to secure safe robotmovements with max speed and accelerations at alltimes to provide predictable and shortest possibleand cycle times.
