SALES & SOLUTIONS MANAGEMENT TRAINING PROGRAM

Part of our commitment to being product knowledge experts is training our employees in the items and brands we sell. Our Sales and Solutions Management Training Program (SSMTP) is a six-month course designed for recent college graduates looking to enter the engineering, manufacturing, and conveyor industries. Successful completion of the program culminates in an Account Manager position at one of our 72 branch locations, located across 16 states.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have one of the following:

  • A degree from a 2-year or 4-year accredited institution OR
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in plant maintenance or similar


Applicants must be able to complete the six-month training in person at our Fort Worth location. Job locations vary after the completion of the program (see Job Placement below).


Other qualifications:

  • Eagerness to learn about the industrial distribution industry
  • Willingness to relocate at the conclusion of the program (see Job Placement below)

APPLICATION DATES

Applications for the 2022 SSMTP class are not currently being accepted. Continue to check this page for updated application deadlines, and keep the following in mind:


  • Our application cycle generally runs from the beginning of January to the end of May
  • Students should be prepared to begin training on the first business day of June
  • Some late applications or delayed starts may be considered based on graduation date or extenuating circumstances


PAY & BENEFITS

Students of the SSMTP program are considered full-time employees of Purvis Industries. While in the program, students will be paid a fixed salary and will receive medical and dental health benefits.


Once students have completed the program and begin working as Account Managers, they will continue to receive medical and dental benefits. Salary will be based on compensation. Account Managers also receive the following benefits:

  • Cell phone allowance
  • Gas mileage reimbursement
  • Auto depreciation allowance


WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

SSMTP students will learn from industry experts on a variety of topics, including:

  • Bearings
  • Power Transmission
  • Electrical & Fluid Power
  • Conveyors and Belting


The program prepares students for their roles as Account Managers using a variety of learning techniques, including:

  • Mock Cold Calls
  • Shadowing top Account Managers
  • Visits to Purvis customers with members of the Purvis executive team
  • Presentation Preparation
  • Time Management Training


JOB PLACEMENT

Upon completing the six-month program, students will begin working as Account Managers at one of our 72 branch locations. Students will agree to their destination prior to enrollment in our SSMTP training.
